Insurance Claims Processing
If you haven’t filed an insurance claim before, here is how the process works (JML Roofing would love to work with the insurance on your behalf for any of the steps below):
1. The homeowner files the claim with their insurance provider and an appointment is made to have an adjuster evaluate the extent of the damage.
2. After the adjuster evaluates the roof, the insurance will decide whether they are going to pay for the entire roof, a portion of the roof, or deny coverage completely.
3. Next, if the insurance agrees to provide coverage, they will give the homeowner an estimate for the repairs that need to be done and provide an initial payment, based on the age of the roof and the homeowner’s deductible.
4. Finally, the homeowner will choose a contractor to get the repairs completed. After the repairs are made, the insurance will then provide a second payment to the homeowner.
